keramos Amphora red

KAMARA PURE

Label: Keramos red

Origin: Northern Greece

Region: Slopes of Kamara, Oraiokastro Thessaloniki

Variety: Limnio-Xinomavro(50-50% blend)

History of the label:

The label of KERAMOS wines is inspired from the ancient Greek history and depicts the meeting that Alexander the Great had with the cynic philosopher Diogenes. The philosophy of Diogenes was “Less is more” and, for this reason he lived in an amphora instead of a house. For the Cynics and for us, the purpose of life is to live in virtue, in agreement with nature.

Tasting notes:

Light red color with purple highlights, relatively clear. The wine shows a thin layer of sediment, as it has not been filtered. It was fermented and matured in amphoras, which contributed to bring out the original aromas of the variety, and developing simultaneously wonderful aromas of oxidative aging. Skin contact lasted for 30 days providing the wine with rich tannic structure, while the slow exchange of oxygen from the amphora's pores provided it with a very deep and rich texture. Earthy aromas and noticeable minerality. Dried plum, fig and a blend of herbs . In the mouth taste of maraschino cherry, black and red berries, intense tannins, but also fresh acidity.
